Hong Kong has fascinated me for decades. As a civil engineer who worked in China thirty years ago and visited the city seven times, I now observe it through both a personal and professional lens. The city combines precision, dynamism, and creativity in every skyscraper — its vertical development makes it one of a kind in the world.

As an engineer, I’m fascinated by how Hong Kong functions as a living system — where transport, construction, energy, and people move in perfect rhythm. Each new building reflects precision and thoughtful design. Returning after three decades allows me to see both the evolution of the skyline and the persistence of its unique energy.

Today, I see the city differently. Back then, I was searching for solutions — now, I understand the system that creates them. Hong Kong’s architecture remains my favorite focus because it represents the intersection of technical precision and human persistence — a balance that continues to inspire me both as an engineer and as a traveler.
